Hey guys I need help.. I had and unprotected sex on Tuesday I was not on the pill and it happened unexpectedly.. i haven’t bought a Plan B yet I’m planning on doing it tomorrow. I started talking my pills again on Friday and Sunday and Saturday, but I know I’m not protected yet but I’m so scared…. I was supposed to get my period today maybe I’m just overthinking..

Last Tuesday? It’s now Sunday…. Plan b is effective for up to 48 hours after unprotected sex, the sooner you take it better. Ella one (another type of emergency contraceptive pill) is effective for up to 72 hours after unprotected sex, again the sooner you take it the better. No point taking an emergency contraceptive pill now it’s not going to do anything. All you can do is take a pregnancy test 3 weeks after sex. What do you mean by not on the pill? Do you mean you were on your break week/placebo pill week? As you’re now taking pills again?

@bluerose9 oh no I meant this Tuesday🥲 but I know there is a plan B for 120hours here I’m planning on getting it. Yes I stopped taking the pill for almost 2 months I was feeling sick 24/7 because of it. Yes I have now been taking the pill for 3 days I’m just praying and hoping the plan B will work because it’s only been 4 days since I had sex

@Sammy2008 emergency contraception is more effective the sooner you take it. Even if you do take it you should take a pregnancy test in 3 weeks to ensure it worked Apologies Ella one is effective for 5 days (120 hours not 72) but please carefully follow its instructions on how to take the pill when you take it - Ella one decreases the effectiveness of the pill and the pill decreases the effectiveness of Ella one. So make sure you follow its instructions.

Where I am it is now Sunday evening so if you take it tomorrow it will be more than 5 days. Is there any way at all that you can get it today?

You are at risk. Like @bluerose9 said; if you want to take emergency contraception you’d need to take EllaOne today. And be extremely cautious with taking it by following the instructions correctly. Also take a pregnancy test in 21 days after you’ve used emergency contraceptive. It won’t do anything if you’ve already ovulated.

You are unprotected. Since you are not on birth control I would recommend really using condoms if birth control is making you sick and be more mindful when you skip a pill to not have unprotected sex especially if you don’t want to get pregnant right now.

@Sammy2008 2 weeks is too early, you should test in 21 days (3 weeks). And use condoms if you decide to have sex.
