hi guys! i’m wondering if anyone has any insight on what is the safest way to get off birth control? after almost 4 years i’ve decided a break is long overdue. i’m just not sure if it’s a smart idea to stop mid pack. any advice is greatly appreciated!

Are you planning to stay off for at least a full year? Because that’s the minimum amount of time that’s recommended when you want to stop birth control.

i’d say talk to your pharmacist about it, that’s what i do when i have any questions about any medication i take

Just make sure you have condoms on hand and are ready to use them if you're still trying to prevent pregnancy. I would recommend stopping during active pills because if you stop after a break, sex on your break could be unprotected. Or, start using condoms during your last break week.
