Right girls, I’m getting confused. So I restarted my pill 5 days ago and am told it isn’t effective until taken for 7 days. I slept with the guy I’m seeing last night and looked to take ellaOne but am being told it won’t work due to ovulation period but I have an app and it told me I should’ve ovulated like 2 weeks ago? I’m just getting confused as to whether I should take it or not or if it’s even going to be effective

You're restarting your pill after a break of more than 7 days, correct? Take Plan B (levonogestrel) if you can instead of Ella One because Ella one impacts the effectiveness of your pill and vice versa so you will have to stop taking the pill for 5 days and restart again. You should definitely take emergency contraception even if you're not sure it will be effective, it at least gives you a chance of preventing pregnancy.

It won’t prevent ovulation if you are currently ovulating if you aren’t it should be fine, just know that Ella one will affect your birthcontrol and you need to make sure that you follow the directions because you will have to wait atleast another 7 days to be protected

Take plan B, there is no need for EllaOne.

@Yi_eune people usually take Ella one if they are over the weight limit for plan b

@aurielle what I’m confused about is it’s saying not to take levonogestrel if I have already ovulated which is likely cause my period is due in the next 2-3 days

@taurielisi but you don't know if you've already ovulated
