Hi, I need to come off of birth control for the next three months due to medical reasons. I had sex yesterday without a condom, so I need to continue taking birth control for the next seven days before going off completely right? but during these seven days, i can still have sex, i just need to use a condom? please let me know if my logic is correct

@zzzstzzz if you’ve taken more than 7 pills in a row correctly you should be be able to stop the pill now if you want. Use condoms from now on though

@bluerose9 I keep seeing that sperm can last for 5-7 days so I should keep taking the pill for 7.

@zzzstzzz sperm can live inside you for 5-7 yes, but when you stop taking the pill you’ll have your withdrawal bleed as if you were taking your break and you’ll be protected during that time (but use condoms going forwards because you will be unprotected as soon as you don’t start another pack after the “break” days) so you wouldn’t have sperm that’s alive in you when you become unprotected. If that makes sense
