Hello ladies, I’ve been having some issues with irregular periods - I’ve dealt with irregular periods all my life apart from when I was on the pill. I stopped taking the pill about a year ago now. For the first 6-7 months after, they seemed to have regulated. However, for the past 5ish months they’ve got later and later. For example, the first month I’d have it on the 1st and then next month it wouldn’t start for a week later so the 7th for example. This month I’m now 2 weeks late. I’m sexually active in a relationship but we use condoms. It’s really frustrating, I feel like doctors haven’t taken it seriously in the past!

If you had irregular periods before the pill, I would expect the same off the pill to be honest. Maybe you just have longer natural cycles? Or they're irregular due to something like PCOS? It can take up to a year usually to adjust being off the pill, during which it's normal for your cycles to be irregular even if they seem regular for a few months before changing again.

^^ Often people’s cycles go back to how they were before the pill. I’m sorry that doctors have been dismissive, it’s very frustrating.
