I just started lucette a couple weeks ago round about the time i was supposed to get my period, but a couple days ago i randomly got my period and omg I've never experienced such bad cramps before and i keep getting blood clots which my normal period when i wasn't on the pill was always amazing I'd never get any cramps or blood clots really so i was wondering if this is normal for the first couple weeks or if i should wait till my next period and see my doctor

Breakthrough bleeding is a normal side effect of the pill, it takes roughly 3 to 6 months for your body to get used being on birth control so it will likely get better, but you do not become immune to side effects after that time. It’s possible you experience it sometime in the future.

It doesn’t sound concerning but if it continues for multiple cycles maybe you’d want to talk to your doctor about changing your dosage. My close friend went through something similar. Her natural periods were light with no cramps, and on the pill they got really painful, heavy and long. She switched to a different dose (im not sure if it was an increase or decrease) and that made her periods better.
