Hey, so I am on the pill for so long and never had this issue. On Saturday I was moving and had my pills in the car. It was an extremely hot day. We got out of the car for 20 mins for a bathroom break and to pick up some food, when we got back in the car it was hot but not terribly so. I am scared that it made the pills inactive. Because we were moving I had six months of pills in the car. I noticed some chocolate we left in the car had melted. The pills themselves look fine, they are not damaged visually. I have been taking them for a few days now and I’m not experiencing any issues. Is 20 mins too long? What should I do? Brand: Junel 1/20

Were they in direct sunlight? I’d personally say no, as I’d assume heat for hours on end would be more hurtful than 20 minutes, but if they sat right in the windshield baking, maybe not..

Most pills allow short "excursions" into higher temps. Leaving them in a hot car for long periods of time is more of a concern.

I would say they are ok just think about when the pills are shipped either to the pharmacy or if you have them shipped to your house they can be on planes, semi trucks and then on the delivery truck for sometime days but at minimum an hour and they can go through extreme temperature changes from cold in a plane cargo to hot on a truck so if it was just 20 minutes or so and not in direct sunlight also if they were in some type of case or box they should be fine you can always call a pharmacy and ask them if it would help ease your mind or contact the manufacturer of your medication and tell them what happened they might replace them or they would probably have the best information on if they would still be ok
