got an iud today. it HURT.
it wasn’t as fast as it should have been because my cervix did not cooperate. regardless if your ob will allow it GET SEDATION. you would much rather have it and it not be that bad than go through that without any pain management. i have never had children but i would imagine contractions feel something like that.
Brand: Mirena (IUS)

I get that so much, I forgot to take ibuprofen beforehand and even though I got the smaller sized iud called Kyleena it hurt, I had to drive myself home after and every bump was agonizing but once I got some Advil in me I was better

I’ve been considering getting a mirena and found a clinic a little ways away from me that offers a few different pain management options so if I do get a mirena it would definitely be there

i think it would have gone a lot better if my CERVIX would OPEN 😭

Sometimes doctors will prescribe misoprostol to put in the night before or something to help open it up

@eeeek it’s kind of debated by doctors on wether or not it’s actually that useful but you definitely should’ve been offered something atleast
