how long did it take you guys to get over a break up and how long were you dating the person for?

5 years and it took me a few weeks, I was mentally checked out prior to the break up. How long you’ve been together has nothing to do with how long you may need to get over a break up, it’s entirely different per person per situation

To get over the person? Only a few weeks but I initiated the breakup and had been feeling the relationship was ending for a couple months. To adjust to being single and on my own again? Probably at least 8 months or close to a year. We were together for 5 years.

@mxflo don’t think there is an average. It’s too complex of a situation to have accurate measurements, haha. You’ll be fine!! Just focus on yourself and what makes you happy and don’t feel like you have to force yourself to get over him. Just focus with the flow and it will work itself out.
