I’ve been on desogestrogel for around three months now, and i’ve pretty much been bleeding constantly. Between Nov 9th- Dec 12th i was non stop bleeding, and then since that i’ve been having 5 day bleeds with about 4-7 days of no bleeding. I went to a doctor when i had been bleeding for about three weeks back in November and she told me to stick with the pill - how long do i stick with this for before i go back to the Doctors? The bleeding isn’t painful but it’s so annoying and i just want birth control that doesn’t make me bleed insanely

I’m in the exact situation as you girl I bleed 16 days every two months on Desogestrel. It’s awful I rang up today and they said it takes up to a year to regulate up and even though your bleeding your still protected.

i genuinely don’t think i can handle keeping this up for a year 😭 i want to stay on contraception for birth control and also handling my periods since they’re insanely painful normally but bleeding so often is just tiring and also kinda getting in the way of sex which is just annoying, honestly considering ditching birth control all together at this point

I’ve felt like that before. It gets in the way of a lot of things and when I bleed I normally would have just preferred my period. When I don’t bleed I just don’t feel like doing anything so I understand a lot. I hope you get it sorted I would defo recommend you to ring up your gp and maybe talk about a different pill or coming off it. <3

Definitely try a different method or pill! Unfortunately sometimes it takes trial and error to find the best one that works for you and your body. But there is one out there!
