If I’m on the pill now, and will take pill every day before I get the implant, will I be protected immediately?

Are you on a combined pill or mini pill? Because you’re not protected immediately but if you have are allowed a break week then it should be fine as by the time your break week ends while your implant becomes effective. For me personally I took my combined pill for an extra few days while on the implant to be safe as recommended by my doctor.

I continued to take my pill for the time that I would be unprotected on the implant. As in, I was mid-pack when getting mine put in, then I continued to take the pill for the first week I had the implant in just to make sure I didn’t have a protection gap.
