I think that's completely up to your culture, family, individual finances, etc. For example my fiance's sister's bridal shower was thrown/organized by their family friend just because they wanted to do it. So it doesn't even have to be a family member necessarily.

Okay cause the mom like messaged me a video of the place she wants to rent out and then said “and we can pay for the servers, food etc” I’m like wait up lol

It's a nice gesture of them to offer to pay, but I would agree to something like that if it doesn't come with any "strings" or conditions. I've heard some stories where the people who offer to pay often may want to have say on who gets invited or what kind of stuff it entails (decor, food, etc). Depends on your relationship with them and if you agree with all of that. In my culture it's more common for the couple to pay for everything, so I'm unsure of what's normal for you.

Yes as mentioned above, I believe it’s pretty common for the couple to pay for everything they want. Of course they mostly get gifts and that’s about it. But parties and everything that goes with it mostly falls on the two of them solely. (Lol one of the biggest reasons I never want to get married 😅) Even in my culture (Latino/ Mexican specifically) a lot of the time both sides of the family will offer (but is not obliged) to pay for the food and cakes maybe, but then again I know friends that completely paid for their entire wedding on their own 🫣
