any recommendations on specific mini pill? i have gotten terrible melasma from the combination pill so i really want a new birth control that wont cause this, its become my biggest insecurity sadly

There’s only 2 types that are widely available. There are multiple brand names but they either contain norethindrone or desogestrel, the active ingredient. You need to take a pill everyday, no break week. If you miss a pill on the mini pill you’re immediately unprotected, sex before missed pills is protected. You’re protected again after 2 full days (essentially 3 days) of taking it correctly. The norethindrone mini pill has a 3 hour window in which to take pill. The desogestrel mini pill has a 12 hour window in which to take a pill. There is another relatively new mini pill called Slynd, which has break days (I think 4?) and a 24 hour window in which to take a pill
