I only have an answer for your first question: you can experience breakthrough bleeding (sometimes referred to as irregular bleeding) at any given point when using the pill, this is bleeding you may experience during active pills. It is very normal, and usually more common during the first 3-6 months on the pill as your body is getting used to being on the pill. Side effects are most common during that time and settle down a bit after. It is possible to experience side effects even years into the pill though! If your breakthrough bleeding lasts for 6-8 weeks it’s a good idea to talk to a doctor about swapping pills or methods because excessive bleeding is unnecessary. Don’t let it scare you though, but sometimes it can really last for a long time, longer than a usual period.
