so i’ve been in the mini pill for about 9 months now. every now and then my nipples will get super sensitive and kinda swollen. it’s not like constant but i’ve def noticed it a few times. is that normal even after adjusting to the pill? or should i be concerned and think about switching/getting off?

You can experience side effects at any given point for as long as you’re actively using birth control.

what specific pill are you on? does your pamphlet say anything about this side effect? is it painful? looking at info online it doesn’t seem like something very common on the mini pill, i’d say talk to your doctor or pharmacist about it.

@jorts22 sore breasts and nipples is one of the most common side effects in birth control. What source tells you it’s not common?

it does say on my pamphlet that one of the “less common side effects” is breast tenderness which is weird

@Yi_eune she didn’t say sore, she said swollen and sensitive. reading pamphlets i haven’t seen that specifically mentioned much

i guess i could’ve been more specific. to me sensitive could also mean sore. sorry for the confusion!!! but yeah my boobs are sensitive as in a soft touch feels sore. same with nipples

@nugget457 what you’re experiencing is really normal. Depending on how bad it is for you you may want to speak to your doctor. I have occasional sore breasts but nothing to switch birth controls over, but your soreness could be worse than I’ve experienced so it’s hard to tell what would be best for you. Follow your gut in this instance!
