Just want to see if anyone else has this or experienced, I’ve researched around and what not and wasn’t worried but when I was discovering about myself I knew my hymen wasn’t like any hymen, I now suspect it’s a septate hymen. I’ve been experiencing more painful periods maybe i thought cause me and my bf are more active it’s pulling on it. so i’ve been to a doctors and they did an internal exam to figure out why im in pain etc etc. and i told her about the hymen and she said she couldn’t see the extra tissue. weirdly I have a photo of my own so i showed her and she agrees that there was one. It can move from side to side but it’s still there. i think in the end i want it removed so it doesn’t cause me pain with periods and sex. the doctors just said “i’m young and small” so that’s all. but it’s still there my bf thought we broke it but didn’t.

Your hymen don’t break, that’s a misleading term. It is flexible and can stretch/expand over time due to different activities, it doesn’t just happen from one moment to another. Have you considered getting a second opinion? You should not have to deal with the pain you’re describing.

@curiousity22 the doctor saying you’re just “young and small” is horrible id definitely try getting another opinion
