For UTI, is it ok to open up capsule and take that way? I absolutely can’t with swallowing huge pills

No, it’s not. I recommend speaking to a pharmacist. Ask them if they have a liquid version of the antibiotic.

Depends on the antibiotic, for many you can! As long as it is not sustained release or extended release. Keflex is a common antibiotic for UTI and the capsule can be opened. I’m an RN and often have to open capsules for elderly patients, so I have a lot of history asking pharmacists if I can open capsules lol

UTI has a lot of dissolvable options so I recommend asking your doctor for those next time.

Generic for Keflex is cephalexin.
