I am on the pill and have been for about 3 years this is the first time I’ve had my period for about a week then had a normal week break in between then I started my period again the flowing week and today is day 8 which is super long I’m still having cramps and the blood is red and mixed with darker older blood is this normal for birth control even after 3 years I’m honestly contemplating getting off of it and just using condoms but idk if I should? Give me your option please. I only need birthcontrol for preventing pregnancy not for anything else really and I’m scared if I stay on it too long I’ll become infertile or have issues idk. 💊💊💊💊💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💊💊💊💊💊💊💊🔶💊💊💊💊💊💊💊💊⏱

Irregular bleeding is a common side effect on birth control and can happen at any time. You can talk to your doctor about trying a different pill, for example increasing the dose of estrogen can help regulate bleeding. It's a myth that birth control causes infertility, that's absolutely not factual. In fact it can improve fertility by reducing your risk of uterine cancer.

Birthcontrol doesn’t cause fertility issues and there isn’t a specific amount of time you can be on it (unless you’re on the shot) breakthrough bleeding can just happen at any time even if you’ve been on it for however long
