I just got back from a winter retreat with my best friend and I did have fun at some points, however the people there are highly religious (not in a toxic way) but way more religious than I am. I felt like an OutKast and didn’t know what to do. I didnt relate to anyone when they were talking about god and what he’s done to them in their lives. I feel uncomfortable/ when people talk about god because, while I am also religious I feel like I’m not close with god at all because I’m so uncomfortable with so many things in Christianity. Does anyone have advice?

It's completely okay to realize that those people are not your community and your beliefs/relationship to religion are different. Perhaps it would be helpful to seek out communities that feel more the same that you do, you could even start online, I'm sure there are many facebook groups and subreddits of people who feel more conflicted about Christianity. And I wouldn't recommend spending any more time at those retreats.

I think you should talk to your best friend about it, since you’re close and you did it together. Even if she didn’t feel the same way, you can unpack and debrief and I think it would help. That’s what I would do.
