hey, guys. weird question- i’m starting to notice that when i shave my underarms, i end up getting pimples all over them, like ingrown hairs i guess? i have changed deodorant, made sure all my clothes / towels / bedding are washed and clean, and have used brand new razors along with shaving cream so it isn’t due to the shave being too dry. has anybody experienced this? or does anybody wax that would recommend that instead? TIA!

Yeah it's just irritation of the hair follicles from shaving. You could try exfoliating first to soften the hairs. But honestly shaving is just irritating to the skin. I always got those so I stopped shaving my underarms and just trim the hair now.

I shaved for a long time. I didnt get what your describing but my mom who shaves/plucks her underarms has them alot. I learned how to wax using sugar wax and prefer it so much more! I first used a “medium” firmness wax and would use my bare hands with the sugar wax but found it difficult during the summer as the sugar would “melt” and make a mess quickly. Now i use “soft” wax with a silicone spatula and muslin strips and i find it quicker and not messy. It does hurt a bit (hard wax beads hurt ALOT MORE imo) but only for maybe 5 mins and you can always rinse the wax off since the sugar melts with water.

Also im not super picky so i dont force myself to get every single hair when i wax but it still lasts me about 2.5 weeks before i have to go back in and wax again.

Try waxing . You will rarely get that & the hair doesn’t grow back as fast
